Stuffing

This weekend I was not in Victoria. Because it was Thanksgiving, this post is going to be a bit different than the others. Sadly, I didn’t have Jude around this week to evaluate my cooking on the “JUDE” scale. In this cooking endeavour, I was more of a sous-chef. Every year my Dad is very set on cooking the turkey and other thanksgiving staples for my family. So, Instead of making the whole meal, this week my focus was just on making stuffing. With the help of a couple recipes and suggestions from my Dad, I figured out what my ingredients would be for my stuffing concoction.

A photo of me sauteing the mushrooms before throwing them in the mixture.

Ingredients:

  • Croutons
  • Bacon
  • Celery
  • White Onion
  • Mushrooms
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Poultry seasoning

Once I finished prepping all the ingredients, I tossed the stuffing mix into a “stuffing bag” and put it inside the turkey.

This is when I began packing the stuffing bag. These bags are really stretchy and can hold so much food if needed. In this scenario, I filled it the bag to about half of its maximum capacity so it could still fit inside the turkey.

In the end, the stuffing turned out really well. The nice part was that I didnt have to pay much attention to the time it spent in the oven because it was inside the turkey that my Dad was cooking.
